I work from a place of genuine warmth and curiosity which honours and affirms all identities and ways of being, everyone is welcome here.

  • Outdoor therapy, sometimes called Walk and Talk therapy, or Nature-Based therapy, takes our therapeutic work outdoors and into nature.

Outdoor sessions respect all the regular boundaries of confidentiality and safety, but they are a very different experience to being in a room. What they look like depends on your preference, and there are a few different options we can explore: we can work in a variety of different locations around Durham: local parks, riverside walks and woodland, where we can either walk and talk or find somewhere to sit.

  • I've walked alongside people through many different experiences and challenges, including:

    • Anxiety

    • Depression

    • Grief and loss,

    • Relationship challenges

    • Life transitions

    • Work stress

    • Trauma

    • Family dynamics

    • Identity and self-worth

This is not an exhaustive list of issues I can help you with. If you’d like to talk about what is going on for you, please get in touch.

  • If you’re interested in working together or have any questions you’d like to ask, get in touch to book a free, 15 minute telephone call. There’s no obligation: it’s an opportunity for us to have a chat about what is going on for you, and what you’d like to achieve through therapy. Finding the right therapist for you is important for therapy to be effective, so these conversations can help you explore whether you feel comfortable with me.

  • We'll start by going through some paperwork together – this is a really important place to start as it will help us establish a clear understanding of how we'll work together, creating a safe and trusting space where you can feel comfortable exploring things that can feel deeply personal and sensitive.

Ultimately this session allows me to get to know a bit more about you, what’s been going on and what might be contributing to how you’re feeling right now.

  • The length of the work is completely dependent on your individual needs. For some, it could be a couple of months, for others it could be longer. We would have a conversation about your goals during our initial phone call which could give us an idea about whether it might be short or longer term work.

  • I require 48 hours notice for cancellations. Cancellations made within 48 hours of our arranged session will be charged.
